Drought assistance for QLD producers

With sixty-five per cent of Queensland now drought declared and still no sign of drought-breaking rain, the Queensland government have announced an additional $20 million in drought relief to help producers who are struggling with the persistent drought.

The package includes additional funding for the Drought Relief Assistance Scheme (DRAS) as well as land rental rebates and water licences. Under the new package, the Government is also providing funding to organise events, training and resources for local communities to support producers and families under stress as a result of the seasonal conditions.
