I was raised on a mixed livestock and cropping property near Warwick before undertaking undergraduate study at the University of Queensland. Upon graduating from UQ, I worked in water resource engineering and was involved in several interesting projects including flood mitigation strategies for Emerald post the 2010/2011 flood event. After four years, I realised I wanted to expand my formal training in business and finance and pursue a career more closely aligned with my agricultural background. In 2015/2016, I completed postgraduate studies in a Finance Masters program in Amsterdam.
Since July 2016, I have been working with beef producers in a Far North Queensland agribusiness consultancy. In this role, I have been involved in several DAF FutureBeef projects including the Next Generation Mentoring Program, Beef$ense and the Drought Resilience Project. Through these projects, I have developed an awareness of the key production, profitability and sustainability drivers of the north Queensland beef industry.
I am looking forward to learning and furthering my skills and understanding of the beef industry with the DAF team in Mareeba.
