SUMMARY:MLA Sustainability series: Cattle + timber — Webinar
DESCRIPTION:Silvopastoral systems involves the combined management of trees\, forage and livestock on the same land. \nIn a joint project between Queensland DPI and Meat and Livestock Australia\, 14 sites across Queensland and northern NSW are being assessed for the production\, carbon sequestration and profit potential of agroforestry practices. Thinned private native forest and alley-planting within pasture paddocks are two forms of silvopasture that will be discussed. \nDrawing on examples from South America\, Dr Pachas will share data from this on-going research to see how cattle and timber industries can be complimentary. \nPresented by Dr. Nahuel Pachas\, Principal Researcher\, Queensland Department of Primary Industries. \nDate and time: 27 August\, 7:30pm (AEST)
