Southern and Western Downs regions
The Southern and Western Downs regions have been drought declared as of 1 March 2014. In response to the deteriorating drought situation across Queensland, the Department of Agriculture and Fisheries (DAF) and the Queensland South Region Drought Response Network has the following Drought Assistance Information Sessions to assist producers with issues and needs resulting from the dry conditions.
Topics to be covered:
- Drought Relief Assistance Scheme – DAF
- Financial counselling – RFCS
- State and Federal loan schemes – QRAA
- Farm Household Allowance – Centrelink
- Animal nutrition and drought feeding – DAF
- Ergon Drought Relief – QMDC
