DESCRIPTION:WHAT & WHO Join us for the innovative Rain Gauge: Forecasting for a Profitable Future course\, developed by the Northern Australia Climate Program (NACP) and Meat & Livestock Australia (MLA). This training is designed for red meat producers in southern Queensland\, offering the chance to enhance their Profitable Grazing Systems with climate-specific insights. \nRed meat producers from central west Queensland are invited to participate in the pilot offering of Module 2 & 3 of PGS: Rain Gauge. In return producers will provide feedback on the content and practical relevance of this course. \nKEY LEARNINGS: \n\n\nUnderstanding the impacts of season and mid-seasonal climate drivers: ENSO\, IOD\, MJO and SAM\n\nImpact seasonal conditions\, including temperature and rainfall can have on breeding programs\nStrategies for managing pasture response and grazing pressure in unfavourable seasons\nHow to integrate climate information and forecasts into land management plans including tools to mitigate risks associated with establishing improved pastures\nThe impacts of thermal stress on livestock\n\nWHEN & WHERE: Wednesday 21 & Thursday 22 February 8:30am – 4:30pm at Blackall Living Arts Centre\, Corner Hawthorne and Rose St\, Blackall.
