The workshop will provide you knowledge to strategically manage your grazing business\, so you can optimise your land condition and productivity in the long-term. \nAttending this workshop will help you to: \n\nunderstand how your land types influence productivity\nrecognise the dominant land types in your region and on your property\nunderstand how soil properties influence plant growth\nunderstand soil health and the factors that impact on it\nknow what land condition is\, how it’s assessed\, and how to manage livestock to maintain or achieve good condition\nunderstand the role of fire in your country\nunderstand the principles and planning steps for successfully managing weeds.\n\nWhat you will learn\nPractically\, this workshop will describe: \n\nselective grazing\, its function\, and how to reduce impacts\nhow to identify key plant species\nthe ecosystem processes that underpin productivity\nbasic principles of effective grazing systems\nhow to assess long term carrying capacity of paddocks and properties\nforage budgeting to manage variation in pasture on offer\nhow to choose appropriate tools and strategies to improve land condition and carrying capacities.\n\nCost\n$1\,950 + GST / 1st person from one business. \n$1\,650 + GST / 2nd and 3rd person from the same business (primary producers only).
