Leadership opportunity for beef producers

Opportunity for beef producers to develop governance and leadership skills

Corporate governance and business training

The Cattle Council of Australia is providing the opportunity for fifteen grass-fed beef producers to develop their skills in corporate governance and directorship through a sponsored Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD) Course.

The AICD Course is a five-day comprehensive program that covers board governance and directorship.

Producers taking part in the course will gain an understanding of:

  • The role of directors and issues involved in board participation.
  • The need to measure risk and risk management strategies.
  • The importance of an organisations financial performance and methods for monitoring.
  • Producers will also gain enhanced business skills that they can use in their own operations.

The long term productivity and profitability of the grass-fed beef industry is reliant on strong representation and the AICD course will promote strong leaders within communities, at a national level.

The course will be held in Canberra in April 2016. Applications close 29 January 2016.
