SUMMARY:Decision making under pressure — Online
DESCRIPTION:This is a highly interactive\, evidence-based\, and practical\, two-day online masterclass. Participants will be introduced to a range of tools to improve their own decisions and those of their teams so they can best meet their obligations and accountabilities as a leader. \nThe online masterclass focuses on building and maintaining psychological safety for contractive dissent in high pressure environments and the resulting impact on thinking and decision-making. As well as group dynamics considering multiple perspectives\, organisational culture\, meaning making and recognising and managing drift to unsafe conditions. \nThis event is run across two days in three-hour sessions and is presented through an online delivery method. \nProgram and learnings\n\nThis masterclass explores six topic areas and participants will learn about: \nTopic one: The impact of deep uncertainty – implications for disaster decision making\n\nExamining the features of contemporary events: volatility\, uncertainty\, ambiguity\, and complexity.\nThe impacts of shifting values; societal norms\, individual and group cohesion – turbulence and flux.\n\nTopic two: Decision making under pressure\n\nThe neuroscience of decision-making.\nThe impacts of stress\, time compression\, and uncertainty on individual and group decision-making.\nIndividual and team error traps.\nThe fallibility of judging decisions on outcomes.\n\nTopic three: Uncertainty and decision making: new skills and tools\n\nTools to assess volatility of an event\, monitoring drift and coping ugly.\nFeatures contributing to good leaders making bad decisions Identifying red flag conditions.\n\nTopic four: Making sense of decision making under pressure\n\nRecognising sources of pressure.\nIdentifying cognitive bias and developing meta-cognitive thinking.\nTools to support individual decision-making.\nGroup dynamics and organisational culture.\n\nTopic five: Building and maintaining psychological safety\n\nAssessing communication climate and team culture.\nBuilding and maintaining psychological safety for constructive dissent.\nMeaning-making and multiple perspectives.\n\nTopic six: Enhancing team decision making\n\nElements that undermine and enhance team effectiveness.\nEmbracing diversity.\nFacilitating authorising environments to enhance team capability.\n\nRegistration\n\nThe Decision making under pressure: new skills for the new normal masterclass is delivered online via Zoom for $395 per person\, inclusive of GST. \nEach participant will get: \n\nAccess code to participate via Zoom (one week prior).\nParticipant workbook\, in PDF format.\nAccess to facilitation team to ask questions.\nSafe and respectful learning environment.\n\nThe online masterclass is intended for those who make decisions in high pressure environments and who are interested in how to improve their decision-making and that of the teams they lead. \n\n\nMore information\nFor more information\, download the event flyer. \nWanting to register?
