DESCRIPTION:Supplementation is a key part of herd management and often a significant cost. \nHow do you know you’re providing your animals what they need and doing it in the most cost effective way?\nJoin the Department of Primary Industries for Sensible Supplementation workshops where we discuss the fundamentals that must be considered for effective management of cattle nutrition and supplementation. \nTopics will include:\n\nNutrition fundamentals\nnutrient requirements\nidentifying limiting nutrients\nprotein\, energy and phosphorous supplementation\nbreeder herd management to minimise supplement costs\nevaluating supplement options.\n\nProducers can have the nutritional value and cost effectiveness of their supplements evaluated if they send supplement details before the workshop. Please send your product labels and the costs (landed on farm and exclusive of GST) to Kate.Brown@dpi.qld.gov.au.
