Tamia helping weigh lick blocks to calculate intake, Spyglass Research Station.

The Charters Towers DAF extension team welcomed secondary school student Temia, for a week of work experience in late 2023.  Helping foster an understanding of the industry and raising awareness of career opportunities within the Department, is always a pleasure.

We asked Temia for a wrap up of her week.  Here is what she had to say….

” I got the opportunity to do a week of work experience with DAF here in Charters Towers. I got to do a range of things like travel to different properties, including their research station, Spyglass.

I even got to attend the sale to have insight on what it’s like to be a stock inspector. I had a great experience with the DAF team, it was hands on, out of the office and everyone was incredibly friendly and very knowledgeable. They all helped broaden my understanding of topics in the industry. “

Thanks, Temia for your enthusiasm and interest in what DAF has to offer!
