This webinar will provide an overview of MLA’s research program investigating wound treatment and management strategies to reduce the impacts of amputation dehorning in cattle.

MLA representatives will present findings from two small‑scale and two large‑scale studies evaluating a range of existing and novel wound treatments, alongside key management factors influencing outcomes such as bleeding, infection, and weight loss.

Drawing on these results, MLA have developed a practical decision‑tree framework to support producers in making evidence‑based management decisions that minimise animal welfare impacts and production losses associated with dehorning.
