This roadshow is for land managers, property owners and all interested community members.

Regional service providers will be in attendance at all or selected events including:

  • Keynote Speaker – Kate Forrest from Desert Channels NRM Group (Quilpie and Tambo) providing an insight into “Climate variability”
  • Michael Taylor from AgForce Projects talking about Grazing BMP – “Setting the standard for environmental and ethical grazing”

  • Rob Malin from Rural Flying Doctor Service discussing the Drought Wellbeing Service
  • Seamus Batstone and Emma Seccull from Natural Resources and Mines discussing “Vegetation management laws, policy, codes and compliance”
  • Dan McCudden from DAF with an “Update on invasive weeds and animals”
  • Jed Sommerfield from South West NRM introducing some “Simple mapping techniques”
  • Phil Tickle from the NRM Spatial Hub introducing “A new tool for property planning, drought proofing and monitoring land condition”
  • Russell Mills from Uniting Care introducing the “Country Call Back service”
  • Tony Koch from QRAA providing information on “Drought and drought recovery concessional loan schemes”
  • Julie Frousheger and Craig Alison from South West NRM discussing “Harrisia cactus”
  • Bob Spiers from University of Queensland (Morven and Charleville) providing an insight into “Climate variability”
  • Speakers from the “Collaborative Area Management Clusters” providing an insight into their projects
  • Alex Stirton from DAF talking about “Finding rams that match your breeding objectives”
  • Tim Emery from DAF talking about “All things beef” (Morven and Quilpie)
  • Nicole Sallur from DAF on Leading Sheep – leading the way for a “More profitable Queensland sheep and wool industry” (Morven, Charleville and Tambo)

Staff from South West NRM will be facilitating the roadshow events and will be discussing Collaborative Area Management, pest and weed investment activities, Landcare and other Federal and State funding initiatives.

The Caravan of Collaboration will also be at:

  • Charleville – Friday 9 October – Charleville Racecourse
  • Quilpie – Tuesday 13 October – Quilpie Racecourse
