At the end of the 2013/14 northern Australia rainfall season draws closer, it’s an opportunity to review seasonal and drought conditions to date, what the contributing factors towards current conditions are and get an update on what the seasonal forecasts indicate for coming months.

Presenter Dave McRae manages the science engagement team working within the Queensland Government’s Science Division. His role is to increase awareness and use of the science produced within the Science Division.

Based in Toowoomba, Dave’s background is in agriculture and climate science, specifically communicating the impacts of ENSO and other drivers of climate variability and risk throughout rural and regional Queensland. This included writing a climate column for the Rural Weekly for approximately 10 years.

This presentation brings together over 20 years of climate application work within the Queensland Government.
