Looking to the future

With the theme of “Looking to the future”, the Department of Primary Industry and Fisheries is once again holding the Farm and Garden Day at Katherine Research Station.

The family friendly community event encourages people to enjoy, learn and discover new technologies while experiencing the diversity of agriculture in the NT. We have a variety of presentations occurring throughout the day varying from cut flower propagation and weed control through to an interactive panel session titled ‘Looking forward, looking back’ featuring long-time members of the NT agricultural industry plus some newer kids to the block – what worked, what didn’t and what do they foresee for the future of the ag industry to be in the NT.

The latest results from our research trials can be heard on one of our hourly guided bus tours of the Research Farm running throughout the day.

Having trouble growing vegetables at your place? Come along and ask the crew in the DPIF tent for information or assistance!

Do you have enough feed for the animals on your block this year? We can show you how to work it out!

Are you feeding your stock the right tucker? We can help figure it out!

Is there a weed you just don’t know how to kill? Come talk to us!

Come along and enjoy the sunshine! See you at Farm and Garden Day, 16 April, at Katherine Research Station!
