In Queensland Johne’s disease regulations have been removed in favour of a property-level risk management approach. Western Australian and the Northern Territory have legislated minimum entry requirements of Johne’s Beef Assurance Score (JBAS) of 6 for the Northern Territory and 7 for Western Australia. Until 30 June, all Johne’s disease free properties in Queensland are JBAS 7. However, from 1 July 2017 all Queensland properties that fail to implement a biosecurity plan will fall to the lowest level of assurance – JBAS 0.

Join AgForce, the Livestock Biosecurity Network and the Department of Agriculture and Fisheries for a FREE Biosecurity planning ‘how-to’ workshop.

You will be provided with templates, information and support to develop a biosecurity plan that is specific for your property to ensure you can continue to transport cattle and trade with the Northern Territory and Western Australia. Topics that will be discussed include information on cattle tick and other pest and disease management, and basic biosecurity priorities.

You’ll leave this workshop with:
• a completed Biosecurity plan for your property
• a better understanding of risk assessment
• improved ways to protect your property from costly biosecurity hazards.

Register online by Thursday 15 June 2017. Morning tea and lunch provided.

Hard copies of templates will be available. To complete your biosecurity plan electronically, please download and save a copy of the Biosecurity plan template (available on the Livestock Biosecurity Network website) and BYO laptop.
