What can you do to improve the profitability and resilience of your beef business in central Queensland?

This workshop will cover:

  • Whole farm economics
  • Comparison of profitability of management strategies in CQ
  • Maximise the profitability of forage systems that utilise leucaena and/or oats
  • Tools available to conduct your own analyses

Why reassess your Grazing BMP modules?

  • Check off or update your action plans
  • Evaluate your progress since completing your last assessment
  • Contribute to industry data

The presenters:

Tim Moravek and Daisy‐May Denny: Tim and Daisy are agricultural economists who have been working with graziers to assess the impact of management strategies on business performance.

Maree Bowen: Maree has led beef and sheep nutrition research projects in Queensland’s grazing lands for over 20 years. Her expertise lies in the nutrition of grazing animals and providing producers with a better knowledge of how management decisions and new technologies impact the profitability of their business, in addition to effects on productivity.

Grazing BMP is owned by an alliance of AgForce, Fitzroy Basin Association Inc. and the State of Queensland acting through the Department of Agriculture and Fisheries. Grazing BMP is a voluntary self‐assessment program that allows graziers to benchmark their current practices against industry standards, identify improved practices and determine the steps they need to take to incorporate best management practices into their enterprise to improve their long‐term profitability and sustainability. Funded by the Queensland Government Reef Water Quality Program.
