Join the Central Highlands Regional Resources Use Planning Cooperative (CHRRUP) for the Animal health and nutrition workshop at Charters Towers, 26-27 October.
Day 1, 26 October
Join Jim Wade, Animal Nutritionist, as he discusses:
- Differences in supplement feeding and where they fit in your system and relative costs per head, per day
- Toxic pasture plants explained and what supplements can help (for example, heart leaf and zamia)
- How to formulate or request a supplement that addresses your deficiencies based on animal requirement
Attendees are invited to bring along plant, water and soil tests on the day.
Day 2, 27 October
Hear from large animal veterinarian, Ian Braithwaite as he presents information about:
- Matching the three pillars; cashflow, calves and grass for profitable beef enterprises
- Tying together the business, property, animal welfare and grazing management elements
- Understanding the importance of the herd to feed ratio
