Call for graziers: Grazing Resilience and Sustainable Solutions program phase two now open
Phase two of the Queensland Government’s Grazing Resilience and Sustainable Solutions (GRASS) program is now underway. The program will support at least 420 graziers in the Burdekin, Fitzroy and Burnett Mary regions to improve land condition and enhance production, achieving economic benefits and positive environmental outcomes.
Tailor-made action plans assist graziers to improve land in poor (C) or degraded (D) condition with a focus on improving ground cover and reducing soil loss into the Great Barrier Reef. Graziers may be eligible for incentive funding ($2.7 million is available) for works identified in their action plan.
GRASS is funded through the Queensland Government’s Queensland Reef Water Quality Program and delivered by the Department of Agriculture and Fisheries, NQ Dry Tropics, Fitzroy Basin Association and Burnett Mary Regional Group.
Interested landholders are encouraged to contact their local GRASS provider (NQ Dry Tropics, Fitzroy Basin Association or Burnett Mary Regional Group) or the Department of Agriculture and Fisheries to get involved in phase two.
