Preparations for Beef Australia 2024 are in full swing and we’re in the thick of the action. We’re preparing a ‘grazing board’ of pasture experiences, including a seminar, 6 property tours and 5 days of activities at the Queensland Government precinct.

Seminar
We’ll be sharing the latest pasture research and industry activities in a 90-minute seminar on Friday 10 May. The seminar will outline how the Queensland Pasture Resilience Program will help graziers manage land condition decline, pasture dieback and pasture rundown with new legume varieties and pasture improvement strategies. Arcadia Valley grazier Owen Price will share his family’s experiences with pasture monitoring, legume development, pasture dieback and the resulting cattle production.

Property tours
The property tour program provides a great opportunity to see how cattle businesses within a few hours drive of Rockhampton operate across a range of land types and management styles. As well as showcasing these beautiful properties and the families that run them, the half and full-day tours will share insights from experts including DAF’s pasture team.

Queensland Government Precinct
If you’re unable to take part in our pasture seminar or property tours, you can come and chat to us or book a one-on-one pasture session at the Queensland Government Precinct in the Sidney Kidman Pavilion. DAF staff will be in the precinct all week to answer questions, help you access handy tools or resources, or book a meeting with a pasture expert. If you’d rather leave the week of Beef for pleasure, not business, meetings will be available in the following weeks.
The precinct will have friendly faces, activities for the kids and some interesting displays to touch and feel. The Sidney Kidman pavilion is open until 5.30pm every day and can be accessed with a regular gate pass to Beef Australia.
