Department of Primary Industries (DPI) senior beef extension officer Tim Emery has been honoured with a bursary established in his name for his tireless dedication to supporting young beef producers.

He received the recognition at the 20th anniversary of the Young Beef Producers’ Forum (YBPF) in Roma on 15 November.

Tim is part of the Farm Business Resilience Program team, and has helped more than 50 producers complete their Farm Business Resilience Plans as well as volunteering with the YBPF team.

Tim said he was deeply honoured to be recognised for something he was so passionate about.

“As a YBPF committee member for 13 years, I’ve loved collectively growing the event into a significant industry gathering for young producers,” he said.

The bursary will provide one successful applicant each year with the opportunity to attend the forum, covering all expenses.

The Farm Business Resilience Program is jointly funded through the Australian Government’s Future Drought Fund and the Queensland Government’s Drought and Climate Adaptation Program.
