About the host
Richard and Sarah Cox from Cracow Station have a 10,374 hectare property dedicated to producing high quality grass-fed beef. Since moving to Cracow in late 2003, Richard and Sarah have endeavoured to implement management principles that foster the long-term health of their business, their animals and the landscape. This requires an on-going focus on rotational grazing, pasture management and improvement, strategic fencing to reduce the size of paddocks, soil rehydration through the construction of banks and ponds, increasing the number and spread of stock water points, targeted nutritional supplementation of cattle, low stress stock handling and livestock/weaner education. With a diverse range of soil, vegetation and pasture types across the property, the preservation and enhancement of biodiversity is a core focus of the Cracow Station business. Richard and Sarah firmly believe that biodiversity plays an integral role in the health and functionality of grazing systems.
