Get the low down on The Virtually Fencing Free long-term trial, which is testing out technology and land management techniques to improve drought resilience for North Queensland grazing enterprises.
Spyglass is hosting the five-year research project, which aims to establish whether the eShepherd virtual fencing system could enable rangeland graziers to effectively implement fine-scale, adaptive grazing systems in commercial-sized beef cattle herds.
The technology allows users to remotely and instantly modify digital paddock boundaries to redirect cattle without the need to muster. This makes it easier to rest overgrazed paddocks and ensure cattle use all available feed.
