The Livestock Biosecurity Network, in collaboration with AgForce and the Department of Agriculture and Fisheries, present an interactive pilot workshop to assist producers to develop an on-farm biosecurity plan.
Seven key areas will be addressed on the day, including:
- feral animal control
- minimising and controlling weed seed spread on vehicles and equipment
- animal health management
- waste management.
Key speakers and displays
Dr Sarah-Jane Wilson, Livestock Biosecurity Network Regional Officer for Queensland – Leads the new national effort to boost on-farm awareness of biosecurity risks for livestock producers in Queensland.
Mr Jason Bode, Senior Stock Inspector, Biosecurity Queensland – NLIS for cattle traceability and local biosecurity issues.
Mr Ted Parish, Creevey Russell Lawyers – Risks and rights of producers in negotiating agreements and managing entry onto private land.
Mr Clynton Spencer, Senior Wild Dog Officer, Biosecurity Queensland – Theory and practical demonstrations on predator and wild dog control.
Ms Trudy Baker, Capricorn Pest Management Group Display.
