Breeding EDGE is a 3-day workshop designed to help improve and refine your beef breeder herd management plans. Hear from industry experts on genetics, reproduction and technologies to help achieve your desired production targets.

- $1,650* + GST / 2nd and 3rd person from same business (primary producers only).
*Participants may be eligible for a training subsidy depending on which catchment they have a property located in.
Cost includes a comprehensive set of workshop notes, workbook, electronic files, other materials and catering.

Topics covered
During the Breeding EDGE workshop at Mackay, you will learn about:
- identifying current herd performance – what measures matter most
- reproduction and reproduction loss
- managing breeders and herd management plans
- bull fertility and management
- genetic improvement of your herd (including breeding objectives) and selection tools
- selection and selection criteria for traits important to you
- breeds and breeding systems.
By attending the workshop, you will be able to:
- identify where your current breeder herd management program can be improved to reduce reproductive loss
- measure reproductive performance more accurately
- identify strategies to improve bull selection, retention, management and performance
- develop, or refine, a practical and achievable management plan for your breeding herd that will lead to higher productivity.
