Topics for the day will cover:

We would like to start the day in the shed going through general forest management theory, legislation, fire etc and then head out into the paddock to go through the application of theory in the field, we cover:

  • The latest update on legislation, code of practice and vegetation mapping
  • Trigger maps and notifications of a forest practice
  • Fire management
  • Forest assessment
  • Current timber products and what they are worth
  • Organising a harvest, dealing with contractors etc
  • Optimal tree stocking – selecting the best trees to retain to optimise grazing and timber production
  • Managing grazing stocking levels within a forest environment

We provide tea, coffee and smoko. Please bring your own lunch, water and chair.
