Finance in agriculture in a changing climate webinar is presented by Climate Research Strategy for Primary Industries.

Learn how the finance sector is delivering the market signal for reduced emissions and enhanced climate risk management in agriculture.

This webinar will explore how finance initiatives can assist Australian agriculture to engage with climate risk and motivate investment in emissions reduction within the sector. It will feature presentations from the Clean Energy Finance Corporation and Rabobank who will discuss (with examples) their approaches and initiatives in financing debt and equity. Presentations will be followed by a facilitated Q&A session.

About the Speakers:

Rory Lonergan, Clean Energy Finance Corporation (CEFC)

The Clean Energy Finance Corporation (CEFC) is an active financier to agribusiness. They have worked closely with the sector to identify where clean energy technologies can have substantial benefits for on-farm production and storage activities. In the past five years, CEFC has invested more than $260 million in some 1,100 agriculture projects: from solar power to energy-efficient farm equipment, machinery upgrades and bioenergy solutions to convert agricultural and animal by-products into renewable energy. This is in addition to a landmark investment in the sustainable cropping fund managed by Macquarie Infrastructure and Real Assets. The presentation will discuss CEFC’s debt finance initiatives through various channels, approach to equity investments and early-stage/venture capital activities.
