SEQ Catchments invites landholders with an interest in understanding fire behaviour and what it means for your property to come and spend a morning learning about fire, its behaviour and its relationship with pasture and native forests.

You will learn about:

  • Prepare, Act, Survive. Understand fire behaviour and what it means for your safety – the Rural Fire Service
  • Bushfire risk in the upper Teviot Brook (including Carneys Creek) and Burnett Creek areas – results from the PHEONIX Rapid Fire simulator
  • Pasture and fire on grazing properties – a complex relationship!
  • Native forest and fire – how different vegetation has evolved with different fire regimes

This project is supported by SEQ Catchments through funding from the Australian Government’s National Landcare Programme, the Queensland Government’s Everyone’s Environment Grant, Scenic Rim Regional Council and the SEQ Fire and Biodiversity Consortium.
