SEQ Catchments invites landholders with an interest in understanding fire behaviour and what it means for your property to come and spend a morning learning about fire, its behaviour and its relationship with pasture and native forests.
You will learn about:
- Prepare, Act, Survive. Understand fire behaviour and what it means for your safety – the Rural Fire Service
- Bushfire risk in the upper Teviot Brook (including Carneys Creek) and Burnett Creek areas – results from the PHEONIX Rapid Fire simulator
- Pasture and fire on grazing properties – a complex relationship!
- Native forest and fire – how different vegetation has evolved with different fire regimes
