The Queensland Farmers’ Federation (QFF) is delivering a ‘Managing communications during a crisis’ workshop to help farmers, community leaders and industry representatives build confidence communicating during challenging situations.

Delivered by speciality agricultural communications agency Blue Hill, the workshop will cover how to engage with media and stakeholders on sensitive topics including:

  • farm accidents and fatalities
  • biosecurity outbreaks
  • natural disasters
  • activist trespass and more.

What the training session will look like

  • Real-life crisis examples and hypothetical scenarios, covering theory and strategies for proactively managing media during a crisis.
  • Practical activities, such as mock radio and TV interviews, along with discussions to prepare participants to deal with media and other stakeholders should a crisis occur on their farm or in their community.
