Dionne Walsh undertaking fire management

Join Healthy Land & Water in Esk, 20 August, to learn more about fire management in the landscape to help protect your properties, infrastructure, native vegetation and pastures.

Attendees will learn how to prepare for and manage fire on their properties and surrounding landscape and will receive support to help develop up-to-date property maps and management plans for their properties.

The Queensland Fire and Biodiversity Consortium and Healthy Land & Water are partnering with the Somerset Regional Council, the Queensland Fire and Emergency Services to deliver these sessions.

Speakers will share information on:

• Fire management roles and responsibilities.

• Advice about planning and preparation for upcoming fire season.

• How fire influences native vegetation and plants and animals.

• Managing fire to protect and enhance native vegetation and biodiversity and maintain your land in good condition.

• Using fire as a management tool in grazing & forestry production systems.
