Join Stu Buck, Kylie Hopkins and Jim Fletcher as they work through the current management options for pasture dieback and visit producer-hosted trial sites.

Workshop topics include:

  • Update on DAF’s research
  • Identification of pasture dieback
  • Management options for affected pasture
  • Develop a management plan for dieback on your property

Paddock walk after lunch

  • View producer-hosted trial sites
  • Species tested for dieback susceptibility
  • Management options trialled

Department of Agriculture and Fisheries pasture dieback team:

Stuart Buck:Stuart is a senior pasture agronomist with extensive experience in grain cropping, sown pastures, legume establishment and is currently leading DAF’s pasture dieback research.

Kylie Hopkins: Kylie is a beef extension officer with a broad knowledge of grazing land management and pasture and forage production systems and is currently managing the Pasture Dieback Industry Network.

Jim Fletcher: Jim is a beef extension officer with extensive experience across Queensland’s cattle industry from pastures to genetics to data recording. Jim manages the Habana pasture dieback trial site.
