Supplementation is a key part of herd management and often a significant cost.

How do you know you’re providing your animals what they need and doing it in the most cost effective way?

Join the Department of Primary Industries for Sensible Supplementation workshops where we discuss the fundamentals that must be considered for effective management of cattle nutrition and supplementation.

Topics will include:

Nutrition fundamentals

  • nutrient requirements
  • identifying limiting nutrients
  • protein, energy and phosphorous supplementation
  • breeder herd management to minimise supplement costs
  • evaluating supplement options.

Producers can have the nutritional value and cost effectiveness of their supplements evaluated if they send supplement details before the workshop. Please send your product labels and the costs (landed on farm and exclusive of GST) to Kate.Brown@dpi.qld.gov.au. If you have any queries, please call 0457 520 457.

Please RSVP to 1 September 2025.
