Phil Holmes will describe the value of business benchmarking, compare the profitability of cattle and sheep meat businesses with wool growing businesses, and also give an insight into the business models of the top 20% of businesses in the sheep game.

Stay and enjoy dinner with fellow producers and local industry representatives, hear from Maree King about how she and husband Andrew have used new technologies to help market their lamb.

The forum will answer questions such as:

  1. What do the top 20% of wool and sheep producers do differently, that gets them into the top 20%?
  2. What role does benchmarking have in a wool growing business?
  3. How do cattle and meat sheep enterprises compare to wool growing enterprises in terms of profitability?
  4. Within the sheep industry what are the top 5 enterprise or business models?
  5. How do mixed livestock enterprises compare to other livestock businesses?
