Soil Pit Days – Getting Down to Basics
At the NARDU main house, Glen Arden Road, NE Roma
The field day will visit sites in the paddock and get to the foundations of local soil characteristics.
Dr Andrew Biggs, Senior Soil Scientist with the Department of Resources will discuss
- what these soil characteristics mean for crops and pastures,
- how to identify constraints and discuss options for management.
ConnectAg and DAF Farm Business Resilience project team have done some ‘groundwork’ and compiled information and insights on representative cropping soils in the Maranoa (Roughlie) region.
