The Wambiana grazing trial started in 1997 to test and develop sustainable and profitable strategies to manage for rainfall variability in extensive grazing lands. Various grazing strategies have been compared in terms of their effects on animal production, economic performance and land condition.
The Department of Agriculture and Fisheries, Meat & Livestock Australia and the Lyons family invite you to join us at Wambiana Station near Charters Towers for a practical and informative day showcasing key learnings for sustainable and profitable management in a variable climate.
See the long term effects of different grazing strategies on pasture condition and profitability:
- Minimise drought risk and make the most of your rainfall
- Improve pasture condition, reduce runoff and increase profitability
- Find out about the amazing biodiversity in your paddocks
- Track your ground cover, pasture growth and climate online with FORAGE
Lunch and smoko provided free of charge. Social BBQ at conclusion of field day.
