Are you thinking about building an exclusion fence!

This opportunity will help you make that decision. The bus trip will visit producers who have constructed exclusion fences of all different types and descriptions

Leaving Longreach (train station) 8am, Tuesday 5 August (the bus will leave at 8am sharp, so please turn up early).

The plan is to see as many fences and fence types as possible and talk to the producers about:

  • the benefits
  • costs
  • results
  • problems
  • lesson they have learnt
  • construction tips.

You will visit properties in the Blackall and Barcaldine districts.

The bus will overnight in Blackall, where you will hear from a member of the Tambo collaborative area management cluster, who will discuss:

  • fence type
  • construction and progress so far
  • setting up of the cluster structure
  • management of maintenance
  • problems to overcome (highway crossings, grids, etc).

Participants will also have the opportunity to hear from the different fence companies and discuss the individual details/costs of your potential fence.

Cost: $80 per person, this will include accommodation, smoko and lunches (dinner and breakfast not included).

Producers will get first preference on the trip.
