FutureBeef website hits one million mark

The FutureBeef website reached a milestone this week, with over a million views from more than 350,000 unique users, since it was first launched.

Department of Agriculture and Fisheries (DAF) FutureBeef eExtension team leader, John James explained that the FutureBeef website was becoming the one-stop shop for northern beef information.

“FutureBeef is a collaborative program that supports the northern Australian beef industry. It was launched in 2012 and includes webinars, eBulletins, learning packages, publications and reports and the dedicated FutureBeef website.

“The website received a quarter of a million views in the last year, with the numbers of people viewing steadily increasing year by year.

“With funding from the Department of Agriculture and Fisheries (DAF) and Meat & Livestock Australia (MLA), we created ten short beef videos which have attracted a lot of interest and helped drive traffic to the website.

“We’ve just finished rebuilding the website from the ground up and taken on-board user feedback to make it even better.

“The website’s event calendar has promoted over 1200 events, allowing producers to find and register for events, including workshops and webinars.

“Anyone delivering beef-related events can easily submit their events to be included using the ‘Suggest an event’ button on the events page,” he said.

FutureBeef is a partnership between the Queensland, Northern Territory and Western Australian governments and Meat & Livestock Australia, which aims to improve the profitability and sustainability of the northern beef industry.
