Beef industry on-station quality workforce handbook

Beef industry on-station quality workforce handbook

Print / Save as PDF

The Beef industry on-station quality workforce handbook suggests standard job titles, position descriptions, skill requirements, salary models and career pathways for people working on beef cattle stations in Queensland.

The handbook provides a consistent foundation that can be customised if necessary to suit the needs of individual beef producers of all sizes.

It has been created to help address staff challenges facing beef producers, in particular, a shortage of workers and difficulty accessing government support for on-station employment.

Adopting the standards suggested in the handbook should help producers improve staff recruitment, retention and career progression.

The handbook is based on in-depth consultation with major beef producers and on broad market research. It is a useful resource for beef producers, industry bodies, government agencies and workers in the beef cattle industry.
