Moreton region GLM land types
Work has recently been completed on the grazing land types within South East Queensland. The two GLM regions in this area (Moreton and Southeast) have been combined to form South East Queensland (SEQ) land types. These cover an area from Hampton north of Toowoomba, across to the Sunshine Coast and Hinterland regions down to the New South Wales border. All updated land type descriptions are available to download on SEQ Land types.
For landholders familiar with the former Moreton land type descriptions and mapping the following table outlines how existing land types (MO) correlate with revised (SEQ) descriptions.
| MO01 | Blue gum on alluvial plains | SEQ01 | Blue gum on alluvial plains |
| MO02 | Brigalow softwood scrub | SEQ02 | Gum-topped box and blue gum on mixed alluvium |
| MO03 | Gum-topped box and blue gum on mixed alluvial | SEQ03 | Gum-topped box and blue gum on non-cracking clay |
| MO04 | Ironbark and bloodwood on non-cracking clay | SEQ05 | Ironbark, bloodwood and blue gum on non-cracking clay |
| MO05 | Ironbark and blue gum on clay | SEQ06 | Ironbark and blue gum on clay |
| MO06 | Ironbark and spotted gum ridges | SEQ07 | Ironbark and spotted gum ridges |
| MO07 | Ironbark on granite | SEQ08 | Ironbark on granite |
| MO08 | Mixed open forests on duplex and loam | SEQ10 | Mixed open forests on duplex and loam |
| MO09 | Rainforest (closed forest on basalt) | SEQ12 | Rainforest (closed forest) on basalt |
| MO10 | Softwood vine scrub | SEQ13 | Softwood vine scrub |
| MO11 | Tall open forest on basalt | SEQ14 | Tall open forests on basalt |
| MO12 | Tall open forests on steep hills and mountains | SEQ15 | Tall open forest on steep hills and mountains |

Until additional modelling work is completed the FORAGE indicative land type reports will still refer to the Moreton (MO) land types.
Have you come across an AL GLM land type code on your land type map? AL land type codes are given to regional ecosystems not suitable for grazing. Find out what your AL code represents…
