Producer Demonstration Sites

Producer Demonstration Sites (PDS) are on-farm research and demonstration projects. Supported by Meat & Livestock Australia, they are for groups of beef producers and extension staff to demonstrate, develop and adopt priority research technologies and findings.

PDS aims to shorten the time lag between technological innovation and ‘on ground’ use. Projects are aimed at groups of beef producers and partner organisations throughout Queensland, the Northern Territory and the Kimberley and Pilbara regions of Western Australia.

The aim of PDS funds is to:

  • Increase whole-property and local industry sustainability and profitability
  • Increase industry-wide adoption of beneficial research findings
  • Adapt research findings to practical, commercial implementation
  • Improve producer skills, knowledge and practices
  • Improve collaboration and coordination between producers and support agencies.
