Using decision dates in grazing management

When it comes to making stocking rate decisions, when do you do it? At the end of the wet season? Mid-way through the year?

To take out the guess work, Meat & Livestock Australia Edge packages have come up with three dates to take an objective assessment of your season and your pastures. These are called Decision Dates.

In this video, beef producers, Ingrid and Doug O’Neill of Mount Oweenee, share their decision dates, and what it assessing the season and available pastures at these times means for their business.

“Not making a decision, is a decision in itself, and it just doesn’t work.”
