Upcoming webinar: A practical conversation about pasture dieback
Pasture dieback is a condition the causes unthrifty growth and premature death of otherwise productive tropical and sub-tropical grass pastures.
Join members of Advancing Beef Leaders (ABL) for a practical conversation on pasture dieback. Joining the ABL team will be DPI’s sown pasture teams (from across Queensland) to help answer any practical ‘on-farm’ questions that may arise.
Both teams will include in their discussions:
- A background on pasture dieback (its predisposing causes, its spread, the pasture symptoms, susceptible vs tolerant grasses and the latest research), and
- The practical management conversations and questions, such as:

- Will I get pasture dieback – how do I know?
- What can be done about pasture dieback?
- How is pasture dieback different to pasture rundown?
- Who can I contact about pasture dieback?
- And many more…including a Q&A session.

The ABL program is a tailored leadership and professional development program for emerging beef producers and rural community leaders. Participants of the ABL program are required to undertake a group project, and the latest cohort of ABL participants have chosen to deliver a webinar, sharing their experiences and learning of pasture dieback as their group project.
