Getting through the dry – balancing supply and demand

Do you want to know how to manage you pasture through the dry season for best livestock production?

Presented by Megan Willis, DAF Charters Towers and Kate Brown, DAF Townsville, this hands-on Stocktake workshop will give you the tools to balance your available pasture with animal demand.

You’ll learn how to:

  • assess land condition (paddock-based assessment that recognises different landtypes)
  • monitor grazing land for ecosystem health and long-term paddock productivity
  • manage and interpret data for business planning
  • quantify the potential for improved productivity
  • calculate forage budgets.

You’ll also hear about the current research projects at the Lansdown Pasture Research Facility.

For more information and to RSVP (by 16 February 2018), please contact Megan Willis on 07 4761 5150 or email megan.willis@daf.qld.gov.au
