Would you like to learn more about Black Soils in the South Burnett?
The Soil Pit Day will be presented by Agronomist David Hall. David is a self-employed agriculture consultant with extensive experience in plant nutrition and soil fertility working with cropping, dairy and grazing land managers.
Each session will cover:
How soil changes with depth:
- Soil texture
- Soil structure
- Impact of change on plant roots and crop production
How can we change our practices to improve our soil:
- Soil nutrients
- Soil fertility
- Soil health
Eligible participants will receive a follow up one-on-one property visit from an agronomist.
Session 1: Tuesday 13 February 8:00–11:00am
Location: Trevor Black’s Property, 867 Flagstone Creek Rd, Haly Creek
Session 2: Tuesday 13 February 1:30–4:30pm
Location: John Allen’s Oakland Farms Property, Sempfs Rd Byee (Via Murgon)
Smoko provided, please bring a hat, covered shoes for outdoors & a water bottle.
