Regenerative agriculture is the production of a product from the land while improving the health of the resource by:

  • building carbon soil biological activity
  • improving soil structure, water holding capacity and water use efficiency
  • improving nutrient cycling
  • increasing pasture productivity
  • perennial grasses and importance for land health
  • grazing management to improve plant growth and soil health
  • measuring feed/forage and plan to match stocking rate to carrying capacity
  • methods to monitor pasture and soil health.

Presenter

Presenter on the day will be Judi Earl, Pasture Ecologist.

Pasture ecology is about the natural processes that occur with pastures and grasslands, really working with and understanding the natural cycle and the plants that are present to improve outcomes naturally from the existing base.
