Landholders are invited to join expert cattle vet Enoch Bergman from Western Australia for a comprehensive workshop on the importance of cattle vaccination and heifer development. The day will cover practical yard demonstrations and a group discussion around the ethics of producing beef over a sausage sizzle.

This workshop combines the latest in research and development with practical know-how which has been designed to integrate new knowledge into grazing businesses to help improve their bottom line.

Session 1: Building a better cow

Heifer development strategies to optimise reproductive performance and herd structure.

Session 2: Practical yard demonstration

Bovine Pestivirus (BVD) sample collection techniques and optimal vaccination techniques.

Session 3: Systematic management of bovine pestivirus

The what, why and how of controlling BVD.

The workshop will close with a panel discussion, followed by a networking discussion around the ethics of producing beef ‘Proud to Produce Protein’ and free sausage sizzle.
