Hear from DAF’s leading researchers and see trial results:
✓ Grass variety tolerance to pasture dieback
✓ 30 grass varieties, 18 species
✓ Pasture mealybug identification and impact
The Department of Agriculture and Fisheries planted this grass variety trial in 2020 into a paddock that has had pasture dieback since 2017. Mealybugs were directly applied to every plot in 2022, and one third of each plot was protected by insecticide application. Some varieties appear highly susceptible to pasture mealybug, while others appear more tolerant.
