Introducing Breedcow Lite: a new tool for graziers

The Department of Primary Industries has launched Breedcow Lite, a free and easy-to-use tool designed to support Queensland graziers in making quick, informed herd management decisions. Developed by economists from the Rural Economic Development team, Breedcow Lite simplifies herd budgeting by focusing on essential tasks like evaluating turn-off strategies, exploring stocking rates, and assessing market opportunities. Tailored for northern beef enterprises, it ensures fair comparisons using consistent grazing pressure.

Funded through the Queensland Government’s Queensland Reef Water Quality Program, the tool can assist graziers to become more sustainable and profitable.
