Burnett Catchment Care Association invites to you a practical workshop providing techniques to reduce soil erosion on your farm.
Topics include:
· Practical skills in surveying water management structures (in particular whoa boys) on farm tracks—attendees will have the opportunity to use the surveying equipment
· Practical demonstration on the construction of whoa boys with machinery equipment
· Strategies and techniques to reduce soil erosion and subsequent loss of production over a property
· Description of a number of locally successful soil erosion rehabilitation techniques
Guest Speaker – Darryl Hill
Darryl is highly regarded around Australia for his practical approach in
achieving soil conservation outcomes. With over 40 years of experience
as a machinery operator and soil conservationist, Darryl will demonstrate
techniques that will help to better manage erosion on your farm tracks,
fire breaks and fence lines.
Guest Speaker—John Day
John is an experienced soil conservation adviser. During this workshop,
John will provide a copy of the publication “Gully Erosion, Options for
Prevention and Rehabilitation” and discuss erosion control and aspects
of soil types and productivity.
