Through continued innovation and productivity improvements, Australian farmers have increased the real gross value of production by 4-5 times over the last 40 years. In more recent times, agricultural productivity growth has slowed to 1% per annum; commodity prices have remained stagnant and input costs have continued to rise. With the need to do more with less, is the human component limiting potential?
