Emma Doyle – 20 mins
Dr Emma Doyle is a senior lecturer and researcher at the University of New England, Armidale NSW. Emma teaches specialist industry sheep and wool units for graduate and postgraduate students. Her research has been predominantly veterinary parasitology in sheep for the past 20 years and recently began research in goats. Emma’s MLA funded project has generated information for veterinarians to provide appropriate, science-based veterinary advice to the goat industry, which is vital in off-label use of anthelmintics. The project has established effective dose rates of selected sheep and dairy cattle anthelmintic treatments in goats; and their metabolism and pharmacokinetics in plasma and tissue following oral, topical and injectable
administration.
Simon Quigley – 20 mins
Simon Quigley is a senior research officer in the school of agriculture and food sciences at the University of Queensland. He will provide an update on Meat & Livestock Australia funded research in progress on the supplementation of young Rangeland goats.
